The story so far
Over the past 20 years FRAMES nz evolved to meet our clients changing needs. Initially trading as Rental Art based in 2nd Ave Tauranga, we travelled the north island with hire art works. In those days only picture framers and galleries sold art works - a little different from today.
Our move to Hull Road Mount Maunganui came at the time the market place started to change and to meet that change we added picture sales and framing to our product options. Our branding also changed to better describe this position, we were now Rental and Art Sales. Our focus moved to the hotel motel industry as this was expanding with new additions and the refurbishing of existing properties.
With the addition of apartments and retirement village projects we needed to expand our workshop and moved to 25 Puriri Street Mount Maunganui where we operate today. With that change of address came a make over with our marketing and with new logos and vehicles we became FRAMES nz. FRAMES is abbreviated for framing, rental, art, mirrors, experience and service and we feel this a more accurate representation of the nature of our business.

Ade Cunningham - Having returned to New Zealand in April 2012 after spending the last 17 years overseas ( 2 years in the United Kingdom and Africa and a further 15 years in Australia ) to take up the opportunity to take over the company from Bill and Eleanor Cunningham. In Australia I have been in a primary management position for many years, initially as a supervisor of painting trades. The company was going through rapid development at this stage and changed direction to that of a building company. After 12 months I moved into the primary role of assessing insurance claims and supervising various trades.
I look forward to this new chapter in my career and the challenge of custom framing and art installation.
Jenny Cunningham - Jenny will be dealing with all accounting along with the day to day workings in the gallery. Already completing some framing and mat cutting. All this as well as keeping the 3 Cunningham children in line.
Bill & Eleanor Cunningham- After spending the last 20 years developing FRAMES nz into the company it is today, will be easing back on the hands on running of the company. Bill will be involved as a senior consultant providing valuable knowledge as required.
Peter Wakelin - Peter has been working for FRAMES nz for 6 years and has an excellent knowledge of custom framing. With 30 years experience in professional photography , his knowledge and understanding enable him to select balanced options for moulding design, mat board colours while achieving an overall presentation for clients photos, original art works, prints and fabric framing.
